This was my first blogging experience and I definitely learned a lot! Sometimes it was difficult making myself sit down everyday and write, but since I was blogging about two things that really interested me it made it easier. I think that if I ever chose to blog again then it would be a better experience because I would be choosing to blog on my own. I think blogging would be very beneficial in my future business and I will honestly most likely do it. Having a blog for my speech therapy business can allow current and future clients to see information and see what my experience is as a speech therapist. It could also give me insight into my clients if they choose to leave a comment. It would be a good way to get feedback from other speech therapists with experience or parents of clients. I think having a blog would also show my clients that I care about what I do and I want to do the best I can. I am also not trying to keep anything from my clients about my experience and that would be a good way for them to really get to know me, especially before they come in for their first session.

I learn by doing things on my own and learning through trial and error, therefore I would be considered an intrapersonal learner. Since our blog had to be about our experience with figuring out two Web 2.0 tools on our own, then that was right down my alley. I like to be given enough information about something that I can figure out what to do, but I like to figure out a lot of it on my own. This module was perfect for that and I really liked how I got to talk about my experiences with the tools whether they worked or not. I don't like when a teacher expects a student to do perfectly on something, and I think this project gave the students an open field that they didn't feel had to be perfect, it was just about their experience. I learn more by doing things like this rather than everything being about the "grade". Overall I learned a lot about blogging, video blogging, Web 2.0 tools, and the two tools that I chose!

I am really excited I got to share my experiences with you about both blogging and using the Web 2.0 tools. Because of this, I will continue to use Pinterest and Skype as well as blog in the future. They will all be beneficial to me and I will recommend all of them to anyone and everyone. I don't know a job or career in which any of these would not be beneficial. I think the most beneficial one to me in the future will be blogging and I am excited to see where it leads me. This was a great learning experience for me in so many ways and I hope from reading my blog, it was for you as well!

I have posted a video blog below that explains somewhat of my experience with my Web 2.0 tools and what I think about them!

Well, here I am, home for the weekend, and for the past hour or so I have been researching Pinterest and playing around with it. It is so intriguing and I am already addicted! Once you start pinning a few things and realizing how everything works on it then it becomes so easy. I think I have gotten the hang of it, although I am still having a little trouble with some things..

After being on Pinterest for a while today I started to think about what were all the different things Pinterest could be used for in an education sense. Yes, it's great for people planning weddings and parties and classroom spaces, but what kind of activities could students do while using this website. I thought about it first before looking up ideas and came up with something like the students having to make their own future classroom or business and get ideas from Pinterest. But I couldn't really come up with anything else, so I looked it up. I found a page called "A Teacher's Perspective on Pinterest" and there were so many ideas about ways Pinterest can be used in the classroom! One thing the website stated that really stuck out to me was that Pinterest is a great way to engage students. Pinterest consists of so many different things and can be used to create collaborative boards for group projects and such. Pinterest could also be used for something like a group project done online and at home that involves the students working independently, but pinning ideas onto the same board and then the teacher can just leave comments and feedback right there on their Pinterest account. Pinterest can be an easy and useful way to formulate group projects for students and it would allow them to show their creative sides as well.

So far I believe Pinterest has been amazing and there are so many things that it can be used for, whether it be educational or just for fun!

I have looked at Skype some more today as well and as I said in my last post, there isn't much more to explore with it. But for obvious reasons it can be used for education too. It is so simple that you could have any kind of business conference on it or it could be used if a child is out of school and needs to see and hear the teacher. It can also be used for the new kinds of ways of teaching like being in different countries and Skyping to talk to each other and learn.

Both of the Web 2.0 tools I chose have been helpful so far in teaching me more about todays technology and there is no doubt they will continued to be used for many different reasons in my future.
